I
was fortunate to have the opportunity to
work on this project in it's entirety,
which is how design should be
approached.
13,000 sq.ft, 6 Bedrooms ,9 baths, 7
fireplaces, theatre room, two kitchens,
pool, two spa's, motor court,
garages for five cars, guest
quarters above secondary garage, porte
cochere with electronic gate,
smart house technology
throughout, radiant heated flooring,
a study/cigar room with leather ceiling,
and 6000
bottle wine cellar with
computerized sommelier.
Beginning with 2 1/2 acres, the
best positioning of the home was
determined by the builder,
designer, landscape designer, and
architect.
Then proceeded to develop a state of the
art home (
avoiding the BOX ) that had
twists and turns and maximum use
of all space. We worked on various
ceiling heights, and
varied elevations for different rooms.
The interior selections helped to
determine how spaces were executed.
- Millwork, electrical, floor, window and door selections , all custom designed.
- Decisions for wall and window treatments were known in advance, so construction details allowed for electrical controls.
- Furniture decisions were made in advance so that the floor plan could accommodate specifications.
- Every detail was discussed between the designer and the builder before it was executed.
- The details for cabinet selections, sinks, bath fixtures, plumbing, counter tops, ceiling details, etc. were considered and monitored on a daily basis.
Coordination between the landscape and hardscape
architect maintains the same consistency
with the interior and exterior design.
